March 2012:  Spring had some of our older girls from Intermezzo and Una Vocé participating along with
Opera Alabama in their on stage performance of CARMEN at Samford University's Wright Hall.  The girls had to learn their songs in French, and practiced outside of their normal Birmingham Girls Choir commitments.  All the girls did an outstanding job, and  to say the least, there were a lot of proud parents in the audience.

February 2012:  Some  of our girls participated this year  in the Over the Mountain Festival.
The Over The Mountain Festival was created to foster and perpetuate the singing of sacred choral music and provide training and encouragement to directors of small choirs and choristers, both adults and children, to the glory of God, the edification of participants and the enjoyment of the greater Birmingham community and beyond.

November 2011: The Birmingham Girls Choir held a fund raiser by selling fresh, hot  Boston Butts.
We had a great turnout, and the girls did a great job at selling what is sure to become a BGC tradition.
Be sure not to miss this event next year.

November 2011: The Birmingham Girls Choir was invited to sing on the morning talk show "Talk of Alabama" at the ABC 33/40 studios in Hoover.  Not only did they get to be on TV and entertain its viewers,  but they also got the chance to sing with Birmingham's own American Idol, Taylor Hicks.

October 2011: Some of our girls and their families got the chance  to provide and serve dinner at
Birmingham's First Light Women & Children's Shelter as part of our community outreach program.
